There are a number of telltale signs that indicate your furnace is at the end of its life cycle. If you are experiencing one or more of these, it may be time to consider a new unit. Call Haldeman Mechanical and we can help you find the correct system for your home.

Constant Repairs: If your unit is breaking down regularly, it may be time to replace. Constant repairs are costly and that money is better spent on a new unit, especially if your furnace is more than 15 years old.
Increased Energy Bills: This is an indication that your system is not working as efficiently as it used to and it is having to run more frequently.
Colder Temperatures: If your house doesn’t seem to get as warm as it used to or if you feel cool air instead of warm air coming out of your vents, this can indicate your unit is nearing the end of its life.
Discolored Pilot Light: If your

pilot light is any color other than blue, something’s wrong. If the color is yellow, your furnace could be leaking carbon monoxide. Call Haldeman Mechanical right away.
Soot/Dust: An accumulation of soot around your unit can indicate a problem. Also, if you notice dust coming from your vents, it could be an indication that your furnace is not properly cleaning your air. You could need a new filter or it could be something more serious.
Strange Noises: If your furnace is making noises, it may indicate that something is failing or loose inside your unit.
