This Spring, Haldeman Mechanical completed a major investment in green energy with the installation of 90 solar modules on the roof of our shop in Manheim. Advanced Solar Industries (powerstreamsolarelectric.com) of New Holland began the installation on March 8th.
The first step was to install the grid racking (photo 1)which holds everything in place. Next, invertors were installed which convert the DC voltage to AC voltage (photo 2). Then the actual panels were installed (photo 3). The entire project took a little over two weeks for completion (photos 4 and 5). Even on cloudy days, the panels produce enough electricity to power our shop and have some left over to give back to the grid.
